I think that sounds right, but you might want to check Tire Rack, etc.

Yes, you got it right. The stock steelies are 16 x 6.5, and have a +39 offset.

For referance the Vibe optional 17" wheel is 17x7 +45mm

Get to know the guys at your local JUNKYARD! Works for me. I've saved tons of cash at my local J-yard.

ive tried, ive never been able to find a vibe or matrix in a junkyard around here. i dont get it how theres a blue million vibes and matrixs around but not a single one in any junkyard within 40 miles. its very aggrivating, plus it taunts me now that im lookin for steelies, i see vibes and matrixs with them everywhere!!

Wheels from a 02-current corolla also fit. As well as 00+ Celica's and MR-2's.

15" wheels fit over the brakes, but then you'll need different size tires.

Also check out used tire shops, they usually have wheels available as well.

EDIT: Just looked at ebay. They want crazy money for these things ($80-100?).
Tirerack.com has them NEW for $62 each, a set $248.00 + shipping to me would be $53.50. So yea still $300.

yeaaa :? ive already looked on ebay, discount tires, tire rack, and several other places. btw, i thought the mr2 was a 4 lug wheel?? and i think the corolla wheels are 15's, and im tryin to use my oem size tires on them. just gonna tear up my old tires instead of my new ones

Some junkyards (auto parts recyclers) are tied together on line and can find parts for you pretty easily. Toyota Matrix/Corolla/Vibe 16 inch steelies are plentiful. We found 2 of them for 45 bucks each in excellent shape, about 3 years ago. May not want to limit your search for steelies... plenty of Matrix/Vibe 16 inch alloys out there as well for not much more money.

Good luck!

ive tried that, places like the autobarn in lima really dont wanna help me out, but that might be bc i made the guy running the place look stupid when they finally got my 5 speed PCM in (long story!!). ive been lookin on and off for about a month now to no prevail. something my dad mentioned, he said that some VW jetta wheels are the same size, would those work on the vibe??

There are lots of small to mid size cars using 5x100 bolt patterns.
The offset's will be different, but as long as you're within 10mm it should fit.
95-05 J-Body +35
85-98 Grand Am +35
All Impreza's +45 (except STI)
All Legacy's +45
MkIII/early MkIV Jetta/Golf +40.

The bore fit will also be different.
Subaru hubs are larger, and will fit. I don't know about the other models listed.
If the bore is not the same size it's recommended you have bore spacers added to keep your wheels centered properly. This will keep the wheel bearings happy.

those might work perfectly, and their cheap for wheels AND tires!! ill have to see if those steelies are 16x6 1/2 so i could put my old summer tires on them once the snow tires are done for
