Driver window screech 03 base

On my 03 base model vibe the driver side front window makes a horrible loud screeching noise when going up or down. I have not heard any cracking noises. I remember it was sticking to the window door rubber when going down. It almost seems likes the window it dry as it goes up and down, any solution what this is?

Does it do the same thing if you try the window with the door fully open?

There was a recall for exactly this problem for your model year. Eventually, the rivets they used will fail, your window will break, and then you will be as mad as I was back in 2004 before the recall was issued. I had to pay to fix it the first time. The last time was fixed by the recall.

It is a recall, the bolt or screw holding the window in place was not long enough so over time the window will fall out of place and shatter. Bring it to a dealership and they will fit it with the right screw. Good Luck!
