Help with plastic pins

Post by Adam24303 »

While cleaning the engine bay the other day I discovered a loose plastic panel to the right if the battery, just inside the fender. Both push pins that held it in place were broken. Not sure why or why it would have needed to be removed. Any idea where to get replacements?

If you are referring to the black plastic push pins that hold up everything to include the plastic apron underneath the car, I use plastic wall anchors as a replacement. You know; the ones that push into wallboard and are tightened when a screw is inserted? I get the medium sized ones in red so I can more easily see where I have placed them. Just tap them in with a hammer and since they are tapered, they hold really well.

I just bought a bunch to replace missing clips on the splash shields.

The part numbers are GM 88970767 or Toyota 90467-10183.

Search the numbers on ebay and you can get them in bulk for $0.40 each delivered.

Dealers charge upwards of $2 each.

I bought these from a US seller and they worked just fine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-25-NEW-GM-T ... 6139975%26
