Hey guys, new to this place but have had a 2003 gt for over a year now, purchased with 89,000 miles now at 115,000 miles. A couple days ago i started my car a i now cannot get it into gear when the engine is on, but if i turn the car off i can put it in gear easily and start the car, but when i do that it seems like the clutch isnt fully disengaging because if i start the car with it in first gear it will lunge/creep forward. I have feeling the clutch isnt slipping cause it will still stall if just pop the clutch. Does this seem to be a transmission issue more than a clutch issue? has anyone had similar problems or have an idea of what this problem is? Any help is appreciated , Thanks!

best case scenario, your clutch disk, or part of it, has broken off inside between the flywheel and pressure plate
worst case, your transmission has grenaded
either way, you're going to need to pull your transmission off the car..

I would look at the hydraulic hose to the clutch slave cylinder first. It could be just a pressure leak not allowing the throw out fork to fully disengage the clutch. It's fairly common once the car get to be +10 years.

Also check the slave and master cylinders themselves... You're brake fluid is probably also very low!

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I hadn't had time to take the car to he shop for bout a week and just left it parked. Well I went to start the car and the car and clutch are acting perfectly normal. I still want to get it checked out but strange! Any ideas what that's all about?

before you drive it again, pop the hood and check your brake fluid level
