Best Sound Configuration?

Post by QuantumSpook »

Hi, I'm new around here!

I have a 2003 Base Vibe with all factory add ons except AWD. I installed four Rockwell speakers in conjunction with a Kenwood Excelon radio to replace the factory ones that stopped producing bass earlier this year, but it still isn't doing it for me.

My dilemma is this: how to get woofer quality bass and keep the wonderful clarity I already have with the Rockwells WITHOUT having boxes sitting all over the place or filling my rear cargo storage panels. I'd also like to spice up the remaining speakers(if I don't end up replacing them) to look as good as they sound, as right now the covers are factory.

Ideas?

Here is a great setup Im running now in my Vibe, everyone thinks I have a sub in the car (which I do now) when first installed. Im running all Pioneer which if you would have asked me earlier Id say avoid but got a great deal so..... Anyways Im running Pioneer TS-A1605C up front (I did remove the factory speaker adapters in the door, reworked the metal and used CCF weather striping around the speaker before installation) and in the rear doors running the same setup. All connected to the factory amp in the car and running off of a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD. Best sounding "base" setup Ive ever used, sounds great, has plenty of volume and the sound clarity is amazing for such "cheap" speakers. Soon will be upgrading the factory amp to a alpine pdx 4 channel.

Try to sound deaden the doors with this. http://www.soundproofcow.com/RoadBlockR ... erial.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. 40 bucks shipped & enough material to do 2 doors. I did the rear doors. I have the factory M&T amp with Polk speakers & they sound great ! I dont listen to bass heavy music much, but when I do...im impressed. Best thing you can probably do to get more bass without having to buy a sub with your existing setup. I bought more for the front doors but i need to replace the power door lock so im going to do everything at once. Im exited about how much more bass I will get when I install it !
