I have the factory stereo that comes with the "moon and tunes" package. I really love it...it sounds awesome...but I also have an iPod. I've seen a Belkin auto adapter that combines the cigarette lighter connector with something that plugs into the dock plug on my iPod. It also has an audio out jack which it says is to allow you to plug it into your stereo system.But...does anyone know where exactly the audio IN is on the Vibe's stereo? Or is there one? Thanks
Well, the short answer is there is none. There are a lot of previous threads about this, you'll find a bunch if you search for "AUX" Some other iPod users here, might find some Vibe iPod tips by searching for iPod. You'll get more results if you search with the "Post Bodies" option instead of the default "Topic Titles"Some people have used FM tansmitters, others have replaced the stereo, for most it's not a big deal. I found it frustrating that the radio has a button that says "CD/AUX" but has no support for an AUX input.Anyway, Welcome to genvibe, glad you finally found us.
I believe there are some adapters in the works that would allow us to take advantage of the auxilary button...but AFAIK, none have been released to date...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
quote: I was only seeing like 3 posts in this forum. :I had that problem when I first came here, couldn't figure out why it said there were so many posts in a forum, but only one or two were visible. Turns out there's a selection box at the bottom of each forum, where you can choose how many day's worth of recent posts you want to see. The default value is 2 days, so you were only seeing those posts in that forum for the last two days, while the forums go back about a year and a half. If you want, you can change your default value in the "My Profile" area, in "User Options". Set the value "Thread Display Timeframe" Another useful link is at the bottom of the Forum Index page, there's a link called Today's Active Topics It lists all the topics that have been updated in the last 24 hours, which is handy if you want to see what people are currently talking about.

I was working with a Delco employee and we couldn't get a delco factory xm box to work. He is working on a replacement radio with upgraded firmware for my car, but you won't be able to do this.
quote:Take a look here. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5446You can add an adaptor to use the CD changer input of the stock head unitIn that thread, it seems as if the PIE adapter requires that you also have the external Cd changer, in that the adapter doesn't provide the required bus control signals, just replaces the audio from the CD changer. So, For the basic stock radio, you'd need to buy the adapter and the GM external CD changer to get it to work. OK if you want the CD changer anyway, but expensive to just get the AUX input to work.

OK, somehow I thought that it might be possible to add the GM external Cd changer to the single Cd stock Vibe radio, and then you could get the PIE adapter to work, but I was wrong.
