Radio Related Noise

Post by sixspeedvibe »

My 2006 Vibe GT with the six-CD changer has developed an intermittent click-screech-click noise pattern that occurs when driving with the radio on for over an hour in warm, humid weather. The problem is triggered by a pothole or bump and continues until the car is restarted.
The noise is not dependent on the engine speed, CD vs AM/FM, radio volume, nor the fade and balance adjustments. It seems to be coming from the lower left side of the dashboard - behhind the hinged storage tray. I see several relays mounted on a tray and the repetitive click sound does remind me of a relay engagement. Is there a radio relay (anti-theft or something)?
Does anyone have experience with a problem like this?
Thanks for any help...

Welcome to GenVibe. Maybe it has nothing to do with the radio at all. Could it be this ............... viewtopic.php?f=17&t=23692" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The noise , as it turns out, is coming from the door-mounted tweeter and I don't think the speaker is bad. :?
