Front Fog Lamp Plastic Surrounding

Post by w00tastic »

Hey guys!

Seems i'm in need of some help identifying a piece on the front of the car. I'm trying to figure out the proper name for it so I can look into ordering a new piece for it. I have taken a picture and i'm attaching it to this post, so if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone knows of where I can get a replacement that would also be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure when it popped off, but I just noticed it was missing and not sitting in my driveway, so I figured it has been lost to the road gods.

That is the left lower grille. part #4 in this diagram.

Image

Looks like it runs around $21 plus $10 handling fee on http://www.gmpartsoutlet.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; with free shipping for a total of $31.

In their online catalog, look in the GRILLE section for the Lower grille

Or look at http://www.gmpartsdirect.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look in the BODY HARDWARE / GRILLE / GRILLE & COMPONENTS section for the Lower grille. Their price is $19 plus shipping and handling which will probably be about the same total price.

And it looks like the dealer price is around $30, so if you have a GM dealer close, it would only cost extra for the taxes after you factor in S&H. But you can probably find one at a salvage yard for $10-15 if you ahve one close by. Look on http://www.car-part.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for a local place with a Vibe. Search for a front bumper or door or something to find the places with them.

Well first off thank you for all the info! It makes what I have to say next kinda embarrassing.

After I got home yesterday I looked back at the front where the piece was missing and thought to myself for a second..."Wouldn't it be nice if that piece came off, but is still in the car in some sorta pocket behind the bumper." So I walked back over and glanced, but something really did catch my eye...So I reached in and off to the side the piece was still in there and in a small pocket behind the fog lamp!

I never thought for a second that it would really be there as I assumed it just fell off on the highway or something. So i popped it back into place and was happy to save the money haha.

Again thanks for the help though...At least I know now in case it does come off for good in the future.

Well, that is a good deal and smart thinking. Much better than if you had already bought a new one and THEN found it!

Hey! I totally feel you on this—losing parts to the 'road gods' is always a pain. If you could post the picture, that would definitely help us pinpoint what you're looking for! A lot of times, these parts are just referred to as 'bumper trim' or 'grill inserts,' but it could vary depending on the make/model of your car. If we can ID it, maybe we can also point you in the right direction for ordering a replacement. You could also check out GM Outlet Parts—they might have what you need. Hopefully, it's an easy fix! Let us know if you need any other info to help with the search.
