Intake for my 09 Gt

Post by stuff249 »

whats the best intake to get for my 09 GT....last time i tried putting one in i got all sorts of problems...Engine check light would always come on. I know someone has to have an intake in a 09 Vibe GT without problems. HELPPP also what do you guys think about the Kenwood DDX419 Double din deck? what dash kit is the best for for our cars?

K&N Typhoon CAI (#69-8613TS). It's not listed for the 2009-2010 2.4L Vibe, but it will fit. I have had one on my 2009 GT for 3 years now and absolutely love it.

I had the Check Engine, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control lights all come on a couple times on mine, but I soon figured out that it was because the MAF was not tightened down enough into the intake tube. Once I tightened it down, it was fine. Now I just check to make sure it's still nice and tight every so often. There have been no issues with the K&N CAI on my mom's 2009 GT though, so I think mine is just especially fussy.

I'm with Envy here, I've had the K&N intake in my Vibe for 4 years now without issue... and I love it.

I remember J_TO_ENVY used a dry filter instead of the oiled K&N filter. Did you use the oiled filter, or did you swap it for a dry one too?

I believe she is using the K&N filter that came with the intake. Correct me if I'm wrong V...

As far as I know, enfield577 and I are the only 2009-2010 2.4L owners on here using AEM filters with the K&N CAI. Everyone else is using the K&N filter that comes with the intake.

I have used an AEM Brute Force Dryflow air filter (#21-203BF) since I installed the intake. It's nice not having to worry about re-oiling and IMO, the AEM filter looks better then the K&N.

For anyone that wasn't aware, K&N bought AEM a year or two ago.
