Anyone pulled off their hatch lately?

Anyone pulled off their hatch lately?

Post by Chiadog »

How hard / easy is it to remove the rear hatch door (whole thing)? I need to do a little rust repair on the bottom seam before it gets out of hand. I do not wish to work upside-down.

instead of removing the hatch, why not find a way to tie down the watch in a half-open position, and then work seated inside the car? i've done it for a few minutes before (as someone held the hatch) to remove some stubborn black scuff marks left by bike tires when i've hauled my bike inside the car. worked fine. not sure if you'd need more room but it beats the heck out of all the work of removing the hatch.

Upon further review ZIMM is right!
I hate working at odd angles especially overhead, BUT it would be easier hitting it there with a grinding wheel than removing the whole hatch. As I am typing this, my neck muscles are tightening up already! :|
