Washing - leaking

Post by Big_Red »

Over the weekend, I decided to wash my Vibe (trust me it needed it). I went to the indoor coin-op (since it is was too cold to wash it outside). Car washed, cleaned, dried and buffed....driving down the street when I notice water dripping in my ride. First I thought, "****, left the window open".....but no it was dry. On the driver side, front panel where it goes from plastic to the material of the roof (will post a pic), it leaked! I don't know why, but next week when I take my car in for its 5000 KM service, I will make them check it out. Just wondering if you had the same or similar problems.

quote:Moonroof? If you have the Moonroof (I can't really tell from your picture), check the thread below.. concerns missing water drainage hose from moonroof:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... 153#4153If not, I have heard about the window seals (from other Forum's) being faulty in a few Matrix/Vibe's that may cause this problem.

Water wasn't coming from the moonroof. However, I have owned and washed enough cars in my life and this has never happened before.

I noticed on Saturday after a very cold night that I had a lot of condensation inside my Vibe... I wonder if its along the same lines as your problem? My boyfriend said even the gauges were fogging up!

Hi ThereThis problem should be adressesd to your service center immediately as it is covered in the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Make them replace repair it if necessary.

Somewhere in the owners manual it says that high pressure wash spray may leak in! (I swear it really says it)

I had trouble with water leaking in my Montana. The windshield was not sealer at 100%. To be honnest, it has a 6" long hole where we were able to see inside the van, when the outside rubber was removed. They told me it due cause at the built plan, the robot did put enough pressure on the windshield to stick it everywhere arount it. So the service dept removed completlr the windshield and put it back. For my part, I when to an high pressure car wash few times and it did leak at all. Bring it back to your dealer to have it fixed.

I know this topic was discussed quite some time ago, but i have had the exact same problem, a leak on the drivers side where the fabric meets the plastic on the top of the pillar between the windshield and the driver window. How did the dealer ever fix this? I'm taking mine in next week.It has leaked for me twice, both times were during heavy rain, freeway travel for multiple hours before it began to leak.

You most likely have a leak around the top or top corner of your windshield. The dealer will probably remove, reseal, and reinstall the windshield to correct the problem.
