First Car 2006 Pontiac Vibe

Post by Chiskon »

Hi guys,

Just got my first car, a 2006 Pontiac Vibe at a public auction for $4k. A little high on miles ~175k but then again the cars I've been sharing with the fam were all high 200,000s. The only problem I've discovered so far is that 3/4 wheels are bent so it pulls to the right and the steering wheel vibrates on occasion (the auction house paid to have it realigned and the mechanic mentioned this)

Liking the car so far :D

Welcome!!!

175k... Almost broken in.

Get some replacement steelies out of a salvage yard, or here, if someone is selling a set.

A location would be nice to have, it helps us to help you.

Enjoy your first car, I still remember my first car that was actually mine, Ford Escort EXP.

Welcome to Genvibe! My Vibe is my first car, too! But I got it with only 78k. Just this Saturday I've owned it for 20,000+ miles! If you're in my area, I'm going to be selling my factory alloy wheels, soon.

Welcome, and as others have said, good choice for a first car! We bought the 06 for my son as his first car, and my daughter took it over for a year as her "first car". It is a great car for a teenager, or a 40 something too! :D

If you are close by me, I also have the stock wheels and hubcaps from my son's car available.

Just got back this week from it's first test ride. A 3 hour drive for some camping and backpacking with the GF and her fam. Car handled it well.
Updated my location. I'll snap some pics soon! and I'll check out the local craigslist postings for new wheels, sadly I don't think I'm close to any of you.
Thanks tho!

Too bad you are not in the LA area. I'm driving my son there for a semster of school next week and could have delivered the wheels to you! But it looks like a 6 hour drive from LA to SF bay area.

There should be lots of Vibe and Matrix parts in CA. On craigslist I found several sets of alloy wheels and even a 1/2 set for $75 by you. You can find some in salvage yards on http://www.car-part.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You can also find some from a Corolla or Scion models too that are 5x100 bolt pattern. Just make sure they fit!

Good luck!
