Because of a serious spinal cord injury which greatly restricts my ability to turn my head, I had an expensive rear view camera and ultrasonic sensors installed on my 2006 Vibe.
The camera is completely wired as this was supposed to avoid any performance issues compared to the cheaper ones using a radio signal between the camera and rear view mirror which becomes the video monitor when the car is put into reverse.
The car audio people who did the installation have been unable to eliminate the interference lines which appear on the video screen when the engine is running. When the engine is off the video is very clear. They have replaced every component including the shielded wiring but had no success. They seemed completely stumped and I don't think have the theoretical experience or education to investigate further.
The oem car radio works great. My suspicion is some form of stray signal from the alternator as with the key on but the engine not started all is good.
Has anyone had any experience like this?
