Hello everybody,
I've been looking for a used vibe since I missed out on the cash-4-clunkers thing. Its been a long search, but I think I got a good deal on this one.
2005 base fairly loaded, windows, doors, cruise, auto. 133K with excellent interior, one accident in history and a mildly scuffed-up exterior and 25% tires. Runs and drives excellent - needed allignment to "center" the steering wheel and a full bottle of Meguiar's Odor Eliminator to remove overpowering cigarette smell. Still need a tail light lens, etc.
The car is in really nice shape, except for paint mismatch on drivers front fender (accident?). The glass looks like new.
So why did ford dealer advertise it for $4150?
I think because they thought it had tranny problems. Park, drive, N, 2, etc were misaligned on shifter. Drive was Neutral and 2 was drive. I bought the car for $3900 and slid the shift indicator plate back into its original position - "fixed" in 10 seconds. All gears now match the indicator.
I will be changing all the fluids asap. I try to do all my own repair work and I'm sure I will have some questions for you Vibe Veterans!
Thanks,
chia
Welcome aboard papa, and good call on the mis matched tranny signs, lol @ those ford guys. Everybody on here is super useful, try going thru the forums I am sure there is something that will catch your eye!
Welcome and the car looks good for what it is! You got a steal of a deal. I got my 10 GT from small town Ford dealer for a good price too since all the little cosmetic repairs it needed would have cost them too much. It was easier to sell it to me for over $2K less than all the others were going for at the time than try to fix everything.
Good luck with fixing it all up!

I have no idea It was the only one offered at the time, others here already had it on their Vibes, it looked good to me so I bought a couple. Wish I could help more

thnx. I wanted to get it made locally in silver but i'll see whats up.
Welcome to GenVibe! It sounds like you got a great deal on a Vibe with plenty of life left in it. I also noticed you got the best exterior color !

I believe the font is called "Impact" and it's italicized. I personally just ordered mine from Grafx Werks. Ryan does great vinyl work. The GenVibe decals have been on both our Vibes for over 3 years now and still look as good as the days I put them on. They have held up through many handwashes, getting hammered by salt, sand, snow and ice during the winter months, etc. Both our decals are metallic silver and they are both in the exact same place as tpollauf's pictured above.
