My gf and I recently purchased a 2008 black Vibe to replace her old car.The paint overall wasnt bad to start with. Had some little nicks and scratches here and there, a bit of paint fade on the hood, etc. First off I'm probably the biggest noob when it comes to detailing, never really cared for it since my car is silver. But now having a black car I thought I should put some effort into it. I stood in the isle at Canadian Tire trying to find the best "off the shelf" product for this car. I saw Turtle Wax has a product called "Black Box" made specifically for black cars for $25. A quick google on the spot showed some good reviews so I bought it to try out. This box contains the following:- 1 bottle of prewax - 1 bottle of carnauba wax- 2 bottles of spray detailers- 2 applicatorsKeep in mind that each of these bottles have some sort of black dye in them (Hense for black cars only!). Maybe wear some old clothing. My hands were pretty black after the detail, but it scrubbed off pretty easily. Lucky for me this weekend provided mostly cloudy weather with no rain. Here are the shots of the car after the black box on a cloudy day (shot with an iphone, does not do it justice!):So over all I would have to say I'm really happy with the black box. For the price ($25 at Canadian Tire) it made the car look better than new. I found it easily worked out little issues in the paint. Highly recommended for black car owners!
Sometime ago, someone here had the cojones to call Abyss the worst color available on the Vibe. Comment killed.Welcome to the family! Start a garage in the Abyss thread:http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...age=1
Hi ! I can relate to black, looks good when cleanthe 85 on T'Wax IceGona clean up the Vibe over the 4th & ice her up.Since the ICE is synthetic it can be applied in "direct sulight" actualy works better that way.My dealer had 2 Vibes,1 black the other Blue,I went with the blue.
