road noise

Post by burrpenick »

I tried spraying some undercoating/soundeadener inside my doors and the hatch. Cant tell much if any difference. I'm thinking alot of the noise comes in thru the wheel wells.....that are covered in plastic. Any suggestions on an easy/cheap aid for those?

I also have the valve cover plastic off while my PCV is on order, does that seem to make any noise or temp difference to you guys?

Well, road noise is cause by tires, and I'd suggest waiting till your tires are worn out and getting a different brand/tread pattern.

Mine had Mastercrafts on it, a cheap brand I guess, previous owner installed them. I just installed Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires and while new tires are always quieter and smoother than old tires, the difference is huge.
