Was wondering if anyone has successfully converted rear brakes of their Vibes from drum to disk? My AWD Vibe is just begging for some delicious vented disk brakes all over, but I was wondering what kind of obstacles the AWD presents for rear brakes.
Some of the potential problems with the conversion might be:
Fitment of the backing plate.
Fitment of disc to the hub face.
Parking brake assembly.
It could be done it is just not something that would be easily done in a driveway. I could not find an AWD conversion kit. Since there was not a disk option for your car the junk yard maybe out.
If you could do it make a custom caliper bracket and use a 77 Eldorado caliper that has an integraded parking brake could be possible to save time and effort.
Good luck
