I just picked up a 2009 Vibe. I was wondering if there is supposed to be some kind of insert in or on top of the spare tire? The front (edge towards the front of the car) of the rear section of the floor was sagged some, apparently the previous owner hauled something heavy there. I pulled out the floor, tipped it over, braced it against the bumper, and bent it straight, but it really looks like there should be something on top of the spare tire to help support that piece. I'm afraid if I put something like my miter saw in the back, or a couple of tires, or something else heavy, it's going to just sag again.
No, there is not anything really under the plastic panels for support except the metal braces that are part of the panels. I saw quite a few Vibes with warped rear panels when I was looking for my 2010 GT, so I know people use them for hauling something heavy. I just looked, and you could probably cut out a 1/2" or so plywood panel to fit on top of the plastic organizer around the spare tire, covering the spare, and that would help support the top plastic panel from sagging.

OK, Thanks! I was thinking I could do something like that, but one of the local yards has a fresh 2009 Vibe in, if there was supposed to be something there I was going to run out there tomorrow AM and see if they still had whatever it was I was missing.
