ECU flash?

Post by cdew77 »

I have had the Check Engine light scanned by two different shops and both times it came back as the 02 sensor - I had the O2 sensor replaced in September and both scans were after the installation. One of the shop guys mentioned it is probably a bad ecu and I would need a replacement. I would like to buy a used one off eBay and get it flashed. Anyone go through this? I have a 2004 base AT; thanks for any help/suggestions!

what were the codes? If they were what I think they were, no an ecu isn't going to fix it.Till you post the codes we would only be speculating what is wrong.

Flashing the ECU is actually a good question. I'd be interested in a performance flash but haven't been able to find anything on the topic.

From my understanding these ECUs can't be re-flashed for performance. Now I heard about guys in europe are doing but yet havn't seen any posting on it
