Tires

Post by Adam24303 »

A little concerned today after taking a look at the left front tire on my 09 GT. it appeared the sidewall had two long splits or was separating a bit. These are good years that came on it from the dealer.

Any reasonably priced replacement options? I've been looking and seems like it will a lot more expensive than the regular tires I had back on my old sunfire lol.

I've got a set of GoodYear Eagle GT's. They were the cheapest and I like GoodYear. This is the second set of Eagle GT's on the Vibe because the first set was screwed up by the tire place. They look directional but they're not, only have an "outside" and "inside" marked on the tire. They are definitely more expensive; only because they're 18's and low profile. My grandparents also have a set on their Cadillac CTS, though they aren't low profile and they ride much better.

same answer I always give: Hankook H727 from Tire Rack. Great tire at a very low price. Tops in its category

What mileage did you get out of your original first set? What did these latest Eagle GT's cost you? My son's Vibe GT will need new tires probably next year and he has 41,000 miles on the original set to this day. They are unevenly worn due to the prior owner not rotating them EVER  We have the worn pair on the rear and the good pair up front. He should be OK till fall of 2013 (we should be close to 50000 miles by then) where we will definitely replace them before winter. His Vibe GT does NOT have a winter set of tires like mine. Just curious .................... Thanks ;)

I had the first set on for probably 30,000 or so miles before we noticed the screw up. There was still plenty of tread left, probably a little less than 1/2, but one was installed inside out. The tire shop replaced one tire free of charge, so we went ahead and bought 3 new ones. This latest time the tires were at 151.09 a piece.
