Change DRL to fog lights and disable auto head lights

Post by dannyy72 »

I'm sure this has been covered in this forum but for the life in me, I just can't find it. I have a 2003 Vibe GT and I'm trying to do the DRL/Fog light mod, which relocates the DRL from low beam to fog lights, but I also want to disable the automatic head lights as well. Can anyone post the links please? I found the 'disable DRL but keep auto head lights' thread but that's about it. Thanks.

I seem to remember a post and pics of someone just unplugging the wires to the photocell on the dash to disable the auto headlights.

Found this thread, maybe it will help. It does mention on the earlier cars just unplugging the sensor:

Thanks, but how exactly do you pry off the sensor? I don't wanna break anything.

Never tried and probably never will. My family is spoiled with all of our cars having auto headlights that they drive. I'm sure if they ever get in a car without them, I'll be getting a call asking why the lights don't work!
