You simply cannot go wrong with HydroEdge!
Besides the HydroEdge, I've had two other sets of Michelins as well as some Goodyear, BrandX, and Sears house tires.
I will NEVER buy any other brand of tire, but Michelin.
The wet performance is better with completely worn Michelin than brand new Goodyears.
Wear, noise, grip, braking, you name it and Michelin has impressed me with every set I've had.
As for Defender,
http://www.tirebusiness.com/subscriber/ ... 1333571815 says it is the replacement for the Hydroedge and the Harmony.
I've not had a set last the whole warrany period, but if you buy them somewhere reputable, the business should prorate the warranty at the end of the tires life so you get credit for the 90k miles warranty.
(if it were me and I had a choice to go Hydroedge or Defender, I think I would go Hydroedge

)
