Crankshaft pulley removal / Oil Leak at 125k miles

Hi all,I have an oil leak on my 03 due to a bad oil seal behind the crank pulley. Does anyone know how to remove this pulley without the SST? I looked around and I don't want to do the starter bump method b/c I wouldn't be able to properly torque it back on. Also, just to doublecheck, does this bolt have normal threads with right-tight left-loose? I want to make sure I'm not turning the wrong way. Thanks for any help!

i'm not sure about the 1ZZ engine, but the 2AZ crank pulley slides right off. no pressing on or off needed. the crank bolt is a normal threaded bolt.

Thanks. It's not actually getting the pulley off that had me, but getting that bolt off without the holder tool that keeps the pulley from spinning as you try to loosen the bolt. I tried making my own holder out of wood and 7mm bolts and it broke the wood and bent the bolts. I ended up just taking it to my mechanic to put in the seal I bought from toyota for $12. It stopped the oil leak and my vibe is back to normal at 125k miles. Still, if anyone knows for future use how to take that pulley bolt off, let everyone know. Thanks.

Starter bump method has saved me on a few cars before, mostly newer Hondas that I did timing belts on. As for re-installing the bolt, I just give it hell with my impact gun.

Yeah I wish I had an impact gun. Most cars there wouldn't be enough room to use one but this one there is. Hopefully I never have to take the pulley off to get to the timing chain, and in that way, a $100 mechanic visit is better than a $100 tool. Hopefully this thread at least helps someone in the future if they notice oil leaking from the pulley. Cheers
