It's going to be a little down the line, but I'll soon be looking into replacing the front speakers. I currently have the M&T package. The two I'm interested in are:DD Audio CS 6.5 $150Infinity Reference 6030cs $200I am really pleased with DD Audio's products (still have that sub for sale....) and am really tempted, but the impedance is 3.1 ohms. The Infinity is rated at 2 ohms. If I researched correctly, the M&T speakers are at 2 ohms. Will this be enough to make a noticeable difference? Also, with the free stuff Crutchfield supplies, and considering they would be about the same performance wise, would that make up the $50 difference in price of the two?

The 3.1 ohm spec for the DD set is given as dc resistance, which is not the same as impedance. It is likely they are 4 ohms nominal impedance. All the speakers I have come across show a dc resistance that is a little lower than the rated nominal impedance. I would think the Infinity comps would play louder, but I have no idea what they sound like. I have heard the DDs, but it's been a while. Seems like they were pretty good. Either would probably be a good set of speakers, but if you don't plan on adding an aftermarket amp, I would choose the Infinities.
I have factory tweets located basically on the A-pillar but on the door. I'll simply place them there. I have an 06 and not even sure that side airbags were an option for my year. If they were, I definitely know that I don't have them.

I've heard the DD 6.5s but not the infinity's. I liked the DDs for the most part and if amped they will give you some great midbass. I felt they were lacking a little in the midrange detail and the tweeter was to bright IMO, but they do play loud. I talked a buddy into buying a set as he loves loud music, we installed these and a Rockford p400.4 running 50x2 to the fronts and they do scream.Hope it helps.
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
I'm probably keeping the factory M&T amp though. I really like the quality of the DD sub which is why they are on my short list. Just not sure if the stock M&T will do them justice?

DD make some great products no doubt, but DD is an SPL company, not a SQ company... remember this... seriously, go out and listen to some things if you can... Infinities are well known for lacking midbass..
