Hello, very new to this site; due to me buying a 2009 Vibe GT a week ago. From reading the previous threads; I'm gonna go with Tiens H, but was wondering if the 2003-2008 will fit on the 2009? From what I understand, 2008+ are the 2nd generations; right? Is this a advertisement confusion; or the suspensions are that much different on the 09-10? Thanks, any info would be very helpful. p.s. Should I go ahead and tackle the shocks/struts while I'm doing the swap; even though they are still like new? Doing the labor myself isn't a problem. I have about 18K into my 97 Cobra; and all the cash was actual parts. Did the work myself in the ol' garage. Thanks you very much, Kosmo
Congrats on the new Vibe!Yes, the 1st gen springs will fit - in fact, I think they are the only option!Actually, 2009 was the first year of the second generation (I don't think anyone calls the mild restyle of the original car to be the second generation).Since there is little call for used Vibe shocks, I'd go ahead and give it a shot and keep the originals. Just be ready to buy Tokico if one or more blows out.

I would say don't worry about the struts. Changing the springs is a pretty simple job. Just do the springs. Shop around for them though, there are several options. But you may want to call online places to verify they have them. I just went through this and several sites have inaccurate inventories.

I'd figure eBay is the place to get 'em - several choices for Tien H Tech and S Tech. However, do a bit of searching here or confirm from the maker that any spring you get will work with the GT's independent rear suspension! I have the regular 2.4L rear suspension, so I know I'm okay (trying to decide today whether to get the S Tech or H Tech).

hey congrats on the GT vibe KOSMO! http://matrixowners.com/topic/85435-spr ... r-09/heres a thread on matrix owners where they're talking about trying to put springs on an 09 matrix XRS. A few people have gone about it in different ways but it still looks to me like there isn't an aftermarket solution specifically for that application. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=41902 the TRD parts that will work on an 09 vibe are documented in this thread. However the springs and rear sway bar are not for GT
2009 VIBE GT 38k+I'm very new; considering just bought my 09 GT late January. I'm 4 days from buying my lowering springs. I'm pretty sure I want to go with TRD 09-10 MATRIX XRS or COROLLA springs. Does anyone feel I should go the TEIN 03-08 route instead. Opinions are welcomed. I don't want a rough ride, but I do want less roll. TRD vs H-tech's. Those are the two I'm most considering. Thanks, Kosmo P>S only mods I plan on doing anytime soon are exhaust and intake (which I already bought)
