Poll: Where Should I Put These LED's?

Post by epcIII »

Where/how should I put these? They're just taped on in the pics to get an idea, so they would be straighter/neater when actually installed.A. (Not my favorite so not sure why I even put it up as an option.) B. I like this one. C. I'm not asking if you think LED's are stupid, or that I shouldn't put them on, so please refrain yourselves if that is your opinion On second thought, since it is a free world I will put up an option 'D' just for you. D. None. They are really, really stupid. What a waste of money. Etc, etc...Thank you!

how about down the length of each wiper blade? putting them in motion will definitely draw more attention than any of those static, already done before locations.

around here they call that "ornamental lighting" i bought cheap tire valve stem caps that lightup upon bumps to see how long I could drive with them before getting yelled at since where we have no local police but instead state police...got pulled over for a verbal warning the second night in a neighboring township, just told me to take em off when i get home, so i stuck em on the four wheeler instead motorcycles are allowed to drive with stuff on them i dont get why cars arnt allowed as long as its not flashing/red or blue in colorid so equip my a car with the rims that create pics like that if they were legal

I voted A although lower might be better. I don't know about you but I think with my daytime running lights they wouldn't be visible if near the headlights.

D... Audi's came with them stock, they are for Audi's... Just like ONLY the IS300 (Altezza) originally came with "Altezzas"... You know where that went.. Leave the LED's to the Audi's...

Thank you everyone for your opinions/votes (even for the 'D's)! I think I made up my mind: a combination of B & C. I'll have a few(instead of half of them) LED's crawl up the side and the rest along the bottom. Probably won't get to it till this Saturday though.

I would say c but they don't curve with the bottom of the h/lSo I guess I'll go with A, but a variation of it, maybe behind the grille or something else STILL with the grille, but not THERE Kinda undecided i guess, but you should DEFINITELY do SOMETHING!

I finally put these on today. Took awhile to get around to it 'cause I had to take off the bumper and was afraid to do that but turned out to be really simple. Got them tapped into the parking lights for now. Will probably post some pics tomorrow.

Edit: I'll try resizing my pics later--just got home from work and I am starving! Finally, here are some pics( )! I ended up going with a combination of my B & C options from the poll. Really, I wanted them all along the bottom, but didn't enough space between the bumper and headlights on the sides to squeeze the LEDs in.Here they are, not turned on, along the bottom of the headlight: I took off the front bumper so I could put them on (can you spot the PA system speaker?): Not the best pic: They are actually pretty visible even with the headlights on (tried taking a picture of that but they all came out blurry). They also blink with the turn signal.

There was another member who put some in his headlights not too long ago and they look great.

Guess you get what you pay for... But to answer your question: I wired mine to the turn signals which wasn't hard at all. I'm not much of an electrician/car guru so I just T-Tapped mine to the turn signal wires. It's not ideal from what I hear, but it works. I'm not sure about the fog light wires (what color is what).Actually, I think this thread has all the wire colors: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=31372

put them in the grill, on the upper radiator support, i have red lights there and it looks SICK, ive got pulled over, but thats bc they were flashing due to a loose wire, but thats fixed, but lighting up ur upper grills would look sweet. im starting trends here, and i love it that im the originator for the idea in the areabe a leader, and mabey start trends
