Rear defroster pad lifted from glass

I've had my Vibe for one day. I noticed that one of the four soldered contacts for the rear window defroster has broken off of the glass. I really mean broken off!! With the rear hatch and glass closed, you can see chipped glass on the inside, on the left side of the rear wiper mechanics. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it caused by excessive force when closing the glass?Side note: don't keep a finger under the glass when closing.....it hurts

I had a friend who had that come unwelded on his Matrix. My rear defroster stopped working after I had my Vibe for about 3 1/2 years. It turns out it came unsoldered or disconnected sometime last winter. They charged about $100 to diagnose the problem I told them was there and about $100 to resolder it.I would take it back to the dealership and request that it be fixed. You just bought the car, for heaven sakes. Good luck!
