full feature security alarm???

Post by danrm »

could someone post some info about the full feature security alarm? I payed for the FULL FEATURE SECURITY SYSTEM Code: UA6 but I dont think I got it. My remote has only lock unlock and hatch. Usually there is a panic button. I have no idea on how to alarm it if I do have it. Just a note , I am not talking about the basic theft deterent but the $300.00 upgrade. Thanks in advance. Dan M

Here is some info that was posted a little while back about the Full Feature Security System:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... d=229Those are the only 2 I could find in relation to your question using the Search feature.Does the sticker for your Vibe state it has this option? If so, it may be that you have to hold down one of the buttons (Lock, Unlock, etc.) for a few seconds to get the panic feature to activate. Members with this option please chime in.Hope this helps!

its supposed to also go of by motion. if i try any more motion I'll end up tipping the car over. from other posts it seems like a lot of people paid for this and no one knows how to use it including me.

Did you ask your dealer about the features of the system when you bought it? Or have you contacted them in the meantime?

No one at the dealer knows. They have been trying to find out. I even wrote to Pontiac and they say they are no trained in this matter. I think I got ripped off.

Check out Section 2-15 in the Vibe manual. It has ways for you to test and work with the Security System. That might at least help you to determine if you have the system and it is working properly.

quote:Thanks but that is for the theft deternt system and not the full function add onI thought that the only security (anti-theft) system available as an option on the Vibe was the Full Feature Security System? That is the only option relating to security that I could ever find.I did not get that option on my Vibe, hence section 2-15 does not apply to my particular vehicle. I literally have no theft protection for my Vibe besides door locks. I am installing an aftermarket system.Does your Vibe have the features identified in section 2-15 of your manual? If not, then I am assuming the dealer installed their own anti-theft system. If so, then we need to get someone here with this option to inform us on the features.

There is no panic button as the system dosen't have that feature and its not listed in the brochure as having it. As Nick posted just read the section (2-15) in the owner's manual. If you want to know if you (or anyone's car) is equiped, just look to the LEFT of the steering wheel for the indicator light with the word security.

so my hopefully last question is how does the motion detection work? It said it has it on the web site. As someone said maybe its for towing. I can't believ they call this a full function security system. I could have paid about $50 bucks and got a better one. for a hundred you can get one with a pager . I guess i got to take the loss. Thanks

Most alarms with that type of motion detection works by having some sort of balance sensor (makes sure the vehicle is sitting on all 4 wheels) and will sound the alarm if it is disturbed. An example is if someone is trying to tow your vehicle, that off-balance of the vehicle will cause the alarm to sound.
