Painting grills

Post by fuel4soul »

When I get my mono fusion, I want the grills painted that silverish metallic the new GTP FO's have on their grills. But, I can't decide whether I should paint the grill "nostrils" and leave the lower bumper ones, or do both that color? Maybe paint the lower ones fusion too and the upper ones the silver metallic?

I am still considering whether or not to paint my grilles as well. If I do it, I am going to paint all of them. I think it will look better that way. Just my personal opinion. Post pics when you do them.

Silver would look cool, but my decals are white. I have a new windshield banner as well in white that I am going to be putting on soon. The only problem is if I do them white, I think my Vibe will look too much like a ricer. But I do have Ventvisors that are going on and a Carflector possibly. Those things are anti-ricer. I don't want my Vibe to look confused. I think I am leaning toward keeping the grilles the stock color.

OK, here you go. It should be sufficient to give you an idea. I'll spend a little more time on something better tomorrow. Just didn't want to leave you hanging so I whipped something out real quick. I sort of botched the lower grills on this one.Edit:I'd also like to give Nsimkins the credit for the photo I used for this. Forgot to do that earlier.

The Aztek Fusion Orange has their grills painted the same orange color...I think it looks really good.

Do you think you could use some sort of car spray paint for them and do it yourself?

Here's a pic of what the grills I like that would be cool on a Vibe on the GP (I think some come factory with these)

Triton I think you should go with factory blue grills.Because your vibe has that great blue and little white harmony. And I guess the white grills are too much. And how about a white gt logo on the blue grill? But that's just me.Keep up the nice work man!

I have my grilles painted. I described it in an earlier thread. I bought a can of Plastikote chrome paint and painted them. They looked great for a few weeks, but lost their shine now. I think I am going to have to send them out to have them coated with this stuff that makes things look chrome plated. I found the company on the internet while searching for chrome grilles to buy. There are pics of my Vibe with the chrome grilles that Nick took at the Northeast Rally posted on this site if you want to see them.
