Lowering Springs and 17" tire width

Post by E-Man »

A couple of questions.1.) Lowering springs - the trd or Ebinich - how much do they lower thecar, how much do they cost, do you need and alignment afterwards, what do they do for the cars handling with 17" wheels - rough the same, etc. I know TRDVibe has this setup, any others?2.) the stock 17" wheels - what is the wheel width? Are they 17x6.5?The stock 17" tire is 215/50R17 - can I go a tad wider say a 225/45R17 and still use the stock 17" wheel?ThanksEd

How wide of a tire you can put on depends on the tire. The tire manufacturer has designed each tire to fit a range of wheel widths. You have to check the tire's specs with the manufacturer to see what size wheels the tire can be fitted to.btw--the 16" stock wheel is 16"x6.5", so I think the 17's are a bit wider.
