Anybody store there gun in the Vibe???

I just bought an 09 Vibe and I love it, but the glovebox doesn't have a lock on it. I am a gun owner. I am wondering if anyone who is a gun owner has a place where they store their gun at, thanks.

In Michigan, they have to be locked and in "the trunk" of a vehicle (inaccessible to the driver). If you have a Concealed Pistol License, you can carry it either on your person or locked and in your trunk.

Laws are obviously different from state to state. In my state, there really are no restrictions about having one in your car, except that it can't be concealed on your body unless you have a concealed handgun permit. You should really check with your police dept or state police, because there is SO MUCH misinformation about gun laws in general. Regardless of laws, it is a good idea to be able to lock the gun down for safety/security reasons. I have been looking at small electronic gunsafes considering maybe trying to mount one inside the armrest console. I haven't taken the interior console measurements to compare yet, but there aren't very many tiny safes. The other idea I had was to mount one on the driver-side rear seat-back, using the rails that are there. That way I could probably flip the seat forward and be able to get to the gun quickly even from the driver's seat. I've not been real motivated to work on a project like that since I've just been carrying much more often.Hope this helps. Let us know if you end up with a good solution.

I don't own a gun, but there is a clever storage compartment in the rear quarter panel that I would probably use. There's also a pocket behind the driver's seat. The 2009's also have a "Grocery oragnizer" that has a nice gun-sized compartment under it (where you are supposed to place gallons of milk). Look to the right in the photo below:
