I have Falkens on the car now and am in need of new tires. I will probably stick with the same rims just not sure what the best tires would be to get. Any help would be appreciated

i was considering buying the Falken F452's or whatever the model is..and the guy our dealership buys through said they're nice tires..but after 10,000 km's they become very noisy..just crappy you had to go through with that without knowing..but my suggestion would go with hankooks or even toyo/kuhmo

I would highly recommend Nitto NeoGen ZR. I've had 2 sets of Falken FK451 and a set Hankook V4 ES. The Nittos have almost as much grip as the amazing FKs and the treadwear seems to be much, much better. They are excellent in heavy rain or dry roads. I've never gotten them to break loose on dry pavement and believe me, I've tried.http://www.discounttiredirect....ar=40

Thanks for the replies. I am hoping to get a bunch. I am getting tires this coming week and hope to have lots of reviews from Vibe owners. keep em' comin..........oh yeah, BTW. I am in Florida so a tire thats not going to last long in in Hot Climate probably wont be good, but at the same time I need something that will handle driving through terrential rains. I have been looking at discount tire reviews and still am not sold on anything yet. HELP...

Which Falkens do you have?? I had the 512's and HATED them... I now have the FK452's and LOVE them.. The 452's get some of the highest marks from my Subaru community, of any tire out there, in the price range, which is a good one, I got mine for less then 100$ each.. 215/45-17 to BTW..

I have the Falken 512's 225/40/18. These tires are loud as heck. I probably could have gotten a little more life out of them if i rotated them more frequently but will do it next time. I still think that they were a bit loud to begin with. But dont have anything else to compare them with. I am unsure if its because I am in Florida but the life of the tire was short-20-25k miles tops. Should have wrote the mileage down when i installed them. Hope to get a few more replies before Thursday or Friday when i hit the Tire store. I was checking out discounttiredirect.com. What is the difference in buying there and the discount tire store here locally. I believe the tires were about 116 online. How much extra do they charge for the install and can i get the same price at the store?

How long have you had the MXV4s? I've been thinking about them as my next tire. I have the Falken Ziex 512s right now and just not overly impressed, but by no means have they been an awful tire.

I'm running Pirelli P4- four seasons on my Vibe. They are very quiet and wet road traction is outstanding. They're so-so in the snow, but living in Fl, I don't think snow is a concern for you. The Pirellis also come with an 80,000 mile treadwear warranty.

I mean horrible, i've have prolly 10 set of performance tires now, and the 512 was easily the worst.... Since I got my 452's though, i'm happy as can be, and like I said, my Subaru had 2-3 times the "performance" potential of ANY of the vibes on here.. .. They have a 300 treadwear rating to BTW... but please, don't buy performance tires, expecting 60kmi out of them, it's just not going to happen.... If you haven't seen her, she FLIES...

Hey Sublimewind, i see your reply mentioning your falken 452's. How many miles do you have on them now. I dont care for the 512's and one guy here mentioned the 451's being crappy after 10K miles. Ill have to check the tire site again and look at some more reveiws to the different falken tires.......Anyone else have the nitto neogen?

I'd say i've got less than 3000mi on my 452's.. It's not my DD, so she only gets out when it's nice(like today..!!), but a LOT on my Subaru community uses them and LOVES them.. I would also have a serious look at the Kumho SPT, i've owned 3 sets of Kumho's, all the 712 model so it's not an exact comparison, but the set's of them I had were AWESOME...

Decided to go with the nittos based on the replies here and the feedback on http://www.discounttiredirect....il.doWhen i originally talked to them they told me they would be 666.56 installed. I told them i got a price of 580 and they immediately dropped it to 555.33 installed....amazing how much they can drop it without a printed quote. I normally will play the back and forth game with auto parts stores but after I got a buddy to give me a price of 580 I didnt think Discount would match it but they beat it and convinced me. I have had lots of good business with them. it will take a while but will post my thoughts on the tires after a few thousand miles. Cant wait.

BTW Sublimewind. What kind of HP are you pushing out of the Subaru. Have a 1/4 mile time? I have a Chevy Silverado with the 6.6 turbo deisel pushing 600 HP and have left every import in a cloud of smoke up to this point. Still searching for 1 of those Viper trucks. Ive already beat the new Mustang GTs. Think they were both stock though. Im always up for a challenge

Wow, you payed 116 each for them tires... I payed 88 each for my 452's.... lol... I did get a rebate though... lol...As far as power i'm putting down, i'm not sure, it's not been dynoed yet... I would venture to say 300-350 though... Funny you mention your Silverado, the other day I saw a Pro-street preped Ford F350, short bed, tubbed, with 30" wide meats on the back, fuel cell stick out under the rear bumper... It was SICK... I could hear the injector pump/injectors before I could even SEE the truck.. !!! It looked stock besides the tires and fuel cell peeking out the back.... I also played with a guy in a Silverado like yours on the highway the other day... He kept tryin and I kept leaving him, slowing down, letting him pass and then leaving him again... lol... I'd love to see more on your 6.6 though... The potential is soooo great today with all the electronic and injection goodies for that market... You see YouTubes of them smoking Vettes all the time now...
