New Head Unit

Post by Vibe_dude »

So I am tired of the crappy OEM deck in the vibe.not to mention that most of the lights are burnt out in it..and that the cd rubs under hard braking. So I went to Futureshop and got me a new Sony head unit. Not really sure how good it is but looks like a newer version of one I have in my Honda Accord. So I guess I should not have to learn anything new about its functions. So my ??? is this.......has anyone had this unit before?and if so did they have any bad luck with it or any probs?http://www.futureshop.ca/catal...catid=#Iam not going to be adding any speakers or subs..just want a good unit for my Samsung K3 mp3 player I have and for the USB port.

Can't say i've ever seen it, but I CAN say ANYTHING is better than stock...!!!Are you/have to done the install? Or are you letting someone else do it? It's rather easy with my tutorial... I like that the Sony has 24bit DACs, which is usually reserved for higher end units.. (makes CDs sound better overall)

All this stereo talk makes me want to buy a new one...oh and btw that deck looks nice... I'm not a fan of most of the new sony decks I've seen, most of them have a cheaper look to the display, but not the one you got... of course, I haven't been looking online to purchase a new deck, so the only one's I see are the ones at best buy or circuit city which are sooo limited.

it seems to me like best buy went downhill with their car audio department. i used to go there for anything i needed and never had a problem finding it. now i can't even get something as little as crimp connectors. when i went there to get stuff to install my mom's deck, they didn't even have a harness

I don't know if I would listen to the salesmen when it comes to knowing all of the functions of the HU... They know some, but not all, and they were prolly trying to sell you something more expensive.. lol... Either way, you'll be happy you made the move into aftermarket..

On some units you have to have the power on, but the stereo "off" (on standby) and go into the menu to turn certain things on and off... Unless the salesman pulled out the manual and read that it cannot turn off... I wouldn't believe them.

Well the deck is in and its so sweet.....so much more power and it fit perfect.....if it was red you would think it was stock.Juat wish the vibe had tweeters for that really great sound.
