OK this was the easy install only 2 screws. I have all the photos and am posting them now. The Toyota part # 58905-02210-B1 Retail price of $98.37 and wholesale price of $78.70. This is worth the money. The install took less than 3 minutes

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Quote, originally posted by Whelan »Why would they remove something with such value.Question of the century my friend!Into that category you can also add the cargo cover and the roof rack cross bars. All were standard when I bought my vibe...can't believe they had the balls to make them "optional." Can't speak for toyota, but the continual GM attitude of nickel-and-diming customers like that, by slowly removing standard features and turning them optional for disgusting costs, is not going to help their turnaround nor help Pontiac, which is already still struggling while all the other brands keep getting reinvested in.

Damn, you're making me want to go to yota to order one again... I just don't know if I want to pay the $70 bucks... then again, it's my Bday in 2 weeks... maybe an early bday present.... hmmmm
Quote, originally posted by ragingfish »Check junkyards too! Any 05 or earlier vibe should have that armrest! (http://www.carpart.com is a good site to do a widespread recycler search)I'm too lazy, and I kind of want a brand new one...but definitely a good idea!!
Quote, originally posted by lovemyraffe »So can anyone tell me where I can buy one of these?Your local yota dealer...or you can try to get one from a junk yard... but they are somewhat hard to come by.

I'd love to toss this in my vibe, but don't know if I can justify the price. You should start stalking the local salvage yards! I'm sure you could get one from them... also I think the ones out of the corolla would fit as well as they are the same type.
Quote, originally posted by lovemyraffe »Are you talking both the Vibe and Trix? My '05 Vibe doesn't have that armrest but I sure wish it did.I'm not sure about the Matrix, but I think the '04 was the last year the dual-layer armrest was in the Vibe.
After I spent the weekend driving to my parents house (4 1/2 hours each way), I noticed that I don't need the bigger armrest. I think alot of it has to do with how your seat is positioned. I drive with mine all the way down. But I tried raising it up to see, and if I was to change the seating position to a higher position, I would want the dual armrest.

Since I had an '03 the 1st time around Vibeville, I figured I wanted the taller console too. Got a new one from the Toyota dealer, and installed it today. I think I like the shorter (thinner) one better.........I might be willing to sell the new one.

I found that my right elbow was hanging in air most seat positions, so I ordered one from the local Toy-ota dealer. At first they wanted 128.00 for the thing, but eventually they agreed to 78.00. I figured by the time I spent $$ on shipping it would turn out pretty close to that figure. Had it two days later and installed easily. Definitely a good addition, not just to have a little something to lean on, the added storage is good, too. I'm glad it was available. Unless the one on the '09 is the same, they will probably stop making them. At least there will be a few used ones around for a while, too.

http://www.toyotapart.com/sear...N=YesPut mine on last night after work and I LOVE it. Just the right height and now the stuff I use often doesn't sink to the bottom of the other 'pocket'.
I've heard nothing more from them so I ordered one from toyotapart.com (see link elsewhere in this thread). That part came very quickly and installs rather easily (even for an all-thumbs person like me). I'm short so I have the seat almost all the way forward. This makes the armrest not quite as handy as I've seen in other vehicles. The height is just fine, it's the distance from the shifter that's not quite perfect. It is still much better than the original.

I purchased a 2008 Vibe on Saturday, and thanks to this forum the dual center armrest cover will be my first mod. As I was driving into work today I realized my right arm was uncomfortable due to the low armrest, and was dreaming up ways to rectify the situation. One quick search of this forum gave me the answer, and the part is already on order. Thanks for helping out a newbie!!

I installed mine on my 2008 vibe yesterday. Easy to do and I really like the higher arm rest. The extra storage is just a bonus. I got mine for something like $73 plus $9 shipping from a Toyota dealer in MoTown over the internet.
I took mine back off my '06 after just a few miles. Being a bit....fluffy....it hit me in my side, and wasn't at all comfortable. That said, it's up for grabs. $80 will ship it anywhere in the lower 48 states; I accept Paypal. 1st one to IM me on Yahoo or AIM and make a payment gets it. Sorry, no pics, and I don't have the oringal box, but I will wrap it in bubble wrap and insure it. Same SN as on here.

I was quoted $300 from an out of town pontiac dealer, then told that I needed the console from sn 03-04 vibe as it would not fit in mine, the additional cost, $700.So should I spend a grand on an armrest?, or order it offline, and get some alloy wheels?hmm tough one.and Gm can't figure out why everyone is leaving in droves

Just the right height and now the stuff I use often doesn't sink to the bottom of the other 'pocket'.I just purchased a 2007 Vibe. Prior to buying it I test drove a 2004 equipped with the dual center armrest cover. I must say I like the taller cover. I spent a few days searching the net for one before coming across your post…...and now, for the rest of the story...Thanks to your link I called METRO TOYOTA. I told the rep that I wanted to place an order for a part I’d seen online. He said the best was to order was online. I said I called to make sure it was the correct part (at this point he had no idea what I wanted). He asked me for the car model, and after telling him it was a Vibe, he asked, "The armrest?" It's on its way to me now
I got a black dual armrest console lid out of a junkyard and im wanting to sell it as ive already got one, its graphite or dark gray in color. Its fully functional and only has one issue, one of the tabs on the upper lid portion is broken...............but it does not affect its usability or anything. The lid stays on and works fine it just has a slight wabble when open.............when closed its no issue at all. The console otherwise is in MINT condition. If interested -------IM me. $50.00 shipped.
