First tank didn't count as I received the car with 70 miles on the odo and no idea at what point the dealer filled the car between trading and such.Second fill up was this morning. Came to 30mpg so I am pleased. 60% freeway 40% other.shifting at 3k or earlier.some running the car up to 5k to help with the break in...etc...and...it is 15 degrees out so that can't be helping.Overall I am pleased and waiting for the car to break in more so it climbs.*** 01/08/2008 - next fill up and we are up to 32.mpg *** 05/04/2008 - around the 6k mark on the odo and hit 37.4 with the last tank
Man, I just got 23mpg pretty much all freeway... although the weather was really bad, so it might as well have been all "in town" driving...I wish I would have gotten a manual, I bet I'd be at 30mpg too...
My last 2 tanks (about 90% freeway) were 33mpg and I have an auto and using winter gas. I just keep it around 60 mph and shut off at long lights and any other situation where i may have to idle a long time. I've been checking my mileage over the last year and my average is 33.11 mpg (25673 miles )

I have a '03 GT and I'm managing about 29mpg in the winter. I was up around 30 or 31 during the summer. Some of you getting low 20's must be doing all city driving because I've never seen mine that low and I get on it sometimes.

The difference between AT and MT is only 1 or 2 mpg. You should be looking for other issues causing the low mpg.

With my AWD I'm averaging around 21-25 right now with a mix between city, freeway and traffic. Comes to around 230-280 a tank. Typically in the summer I can run 280-300+.Also let it be know that the AWD fuel tank is only 11.2 gallons.
well you would calculate kpg :-)I take the number of miles I traveled since the last time I filled up and divide the number of gallons I just put in to fill the car back up.that is how many miles I went for that number of gallons.345 miles and it took 9.2 gallons of gas to fill the car back up to the top of the tank....so...345/9.2 = 37.5 or something like that...You would divide 600km by the number of gallons to fill up the tank and that is kmg.You need to fill the tank up all the time or it isn't going to be accurate. I try to use the same pump at the same station each time as the tilt of some vehicles affects how much gas you can put in.

I've been using my Station's Mobil gas since I've worked there... I can't see them F-ing around with the gas, they have a reputation to uphold. Air filter is new, I wouldn't think that a fuel filter would matter, if anything I should get better mileage with a semi-plugged filter. Not trying to high-jack this thread...

i heard another way to do it..seems crazy..but one of the advisors told me to do thisfill up so you're full...drive 100 km's..or miles in your guys cases..then fill up again..and how ever much litres/gallons you put in....i really dont remember but thats how you find out how many litres/100 km..cause i noticed at work the vibes and some newer cars are like 7Litres per 100 km..so if you got a 50 litre tank..supposly it'll get you about 700 km a tank..i'll have to figure out how much mpg i use next time i fill up
I'm having a hard time believing all of these 30+ readings. I'm not going over 3K RPMs, accelerating very slowly, never going over 65 MPH and slowing down way before red lights and only getting 28 MPG. Most of my driving is highway as well.

You will need to do it for several fills. Also, put in a can of Techron injector cleaner. It gave me an immediate boost. But it won't be enough to make up for your low numbers. Also, I've heard the computer "learns" your driving style and optimizes for it. So if you disconnect - reconnect the battery it may help. Takes a good while for it to relearn so do it when you will go for a long drive. Otherwise, I've heard a bad cat or one going bad will greatly reduce mpg. Don't know how you would know except to replace it. Others that have gone in for warranty check are usually told nothing is wrong. Another check is to clean the MAF. I'm no expert, but these are things I've read that may help. Good luck!
