Too Hot!

After a week or more of 100+ temperatures, with some higher than 110f, I think my Vibe's dash thermometer has bitten the dust. Took it out today from my Air conditioned 80 degree garage, and it never changed from 81 degrees. Parked the car in the sun for a half hour or so, with the temp at 103, and even though the interior was almost too hot to touch, the thing still only read 81. Previous to today, the thermometer would accurately match local bank signs showing the 105, 109, 113, or whatever scorching temperature it really was.So this may be one for the dealership. Anyone else have a flawed thermometer?KSNeptune

Interesting. We've had plenty of scorchers here too and so far the only strange operation I've had is when I go to the car wash and the car displays about 30 degrees lower than the actual temp. I'd say that's definitely one for the dealership. I just wish it were that simple to fix these horrible temperatures!

It won't display anything if it's dead. Just two dashes... take it in and have them look at it. We're in the 100's here all the time in sunny Florida, and I only had a problem with mine after my run in with that Dodge Ram months ago. Good luck!

I've maxed out the lower range before, but never the upper range. Yeah I've maxed out the lower range as well, but it never got stuck there.

Rain and much lower temperatures lately. Temperature reading looks like it fixed itself. A shame, really, since I'll have no way of proving the flaw to the service technicians. Then again the error could have simply been due to the extremely high temperatures and hopefully won't return (either the high temps or the broken thermometer).KSNeptune
