Post by Whitestang01 »

Ok I'm looking too purchase a vibe or a matrix. I like the vibes styling but i hate the gray cladding. Now I have seen some with cladding matching the body color which i prefer/ What years or model Vibes are these??Thanks

Maybe an early model 04. Check the manufacture date on the door.

I thought it was the other way around, the mono tone was an option ** looking confused **

The two-tone is standard. The monotone is an option (package).

All years and models, including the 03, have a factory installed option, I think it is called the Monotone Appearance Package, that gives you cladding painted to match the rest of the car. There is a cost for this option package, but if you are looking at buying used, then it's availability is pretty much a matter of chance.Mine has gray cladding, since I bought from dealer stock and other options were more important. I rationalize it that if I ever needed to replace any of the cladding parts, it would be easier to find them, no color matching, no custom painting, just grab some from a junkyard and slap them on. However, since I haven't ever needed to replace any of them, it hasn't really mattered.

When I bought the Vibe in 03.The dealer couldn't find a Salsa in monotone.I have no regrets buying the 2 tone.I have to say,my 2 tone looks better than most monotones.
