UPDATED: How to Price a Used Vibe - SOLD

I was wondering how I should price my Vibe to sell. I have looked on Edmunds, and the TMV Private Party Price is $6383. I have looked on KBB, and the Private Party (Fair Condition) Price is $5765 and the Trade-in (Fair Condition) Price is $3965. I have looked on NADA, and the Clean Trade-in was $6400 and the Clean Retail was $8375. Which price would you select? It is a 2003 auto, ABS, side air bags, power package, alloy wheels, with 120k miles. I have used Mobil1 for the oil changes. There are a few scratches and dings, new tires with less than 10k.To answer the question, I am selling because I am getting a company car. Also, how would you price a 98 Venture, loaded, that has a gasket leak, broken AC, and 157k miles? UPDATED - 8/10 See Thread Below for answer

I'd go by the Nada price.... last I heard that's what dealers use. Well, actually they use a "black book" that you have to purchase. I can't remember what company puts it out but usually Nada is the closest thing to the black book.Good luck with your sale

i second using the NADA guide. back in my days of working in auto lending and dealer funding that's what we used to determine loan value.

None of these books is of much use in my experience. The numbers are high for most cars.I personally look at what others are asking, on sites like autotrader.com and cars.com.Details:Used car pricing method

Well, the transaction will be complete next Monday. I took my car to three dealers, as a possible trade in. Two dealers offered me $3000, one offered $4000. I had a neighbor who was interested, and I loaned him the car for a day, with sales price of $4800. He decided that it did not have enough power. I loaned it to another manager, who took it home for his daughter to drive, with a sales price of $5000. She was not excited about the car, and he offered $4500. So, I listed in Craigslist with a sales price of $5500, and sold it within hours.So, my days with a Vibe are over. My daughter will miss it, I had let her drive it most of the time. She will now have to drive the mini-van.

She tried to convince me to keep the Vibe, but the van is getting 26 mpg, and I can take all four kids in the van, where I could not with the Vibe. Therefore, I wanted to keeo the vehicle that the complete family fits in, had less miles than Vibe, and will take 4x8 sheets inside.
