1 Speeding TicketPassing a BMW 3 Series the driver and the passenger were making out and was as low as hell. Trying to avoid this stupid couple if they cause any accident and stepped on the gas. Looked at my rear view mirror and I saw the state trooper pulling out of the bush.Almost 80 on a 55. Went to court, knock down 2 points. Paid $80.00 instead of $160.00Now I have a radar detector . Hopefully no more tickets for me.
Wow fun topic. On my first road trip to Atlanta to visit the current fiance, on the trip home I got Lasered by the Georgia State Patrol for doing 90mph in a 65mph zone. The worst part of the story was the fact that unbeknownst to me my Drivers Lisence was under suspension. So the Vibe and I were detained in Georgia for an evening, and I had to have friends from home come and rescue me. Fortunately I did not go to jail... though the Econo Lodge in Forsyth, Georgia could be one! But the Vibe spent the night in the slammer, until someone with a valid license could bail her out. Bummer...
None> and i hope to keep it that way,as like most of us i use to get alot back in muscle car era"" and get away with it.now you got the insurance companies breathing down your back. Its okay to speed a little if the Hwy is open and you"re not endangering someone elses life let alone yours.
pulled over a total 3 times for speeding. 1st one, i used my keen intuition when he asked if i was wearing my seatbelt, i said "I'll be hones with you, no" - BAM!! seatbelt ticket instead of speeding. then a couple months later, got 2 within a week. called traffic law hotline, got one dropped, other on probation, not on my record!

So far only once. It was about 11:30 out on the highway heading out to watch some street racing. I always speed down this strech of highway, never seen a cop out there before. I was only cruising at about 85mph in a 65, but a damn cop was sitting in the median of the highway.I've had close encounters though, many times i should of been pulled. We were doing a work BBQ and i was following my manager and a couple more co workers. We were doing about 10 over going down the road to his apartments, i was last in line, and the light infront of us turned red before i got to it. I ran the MO-FO while there was a cop sittting at the light waiting to turn. It wasnt close either, it was red when the guy infront of me went through. The cop didnt even move

quote:he was probably picking his nose or eating a donutLOL!! I know a few cops in my area like that. You could run a red light while speeding, almost hit a pedestrian, and if it wasn't at 2:00 in the morning on a Friday or Saturday the cops wouldn't care. I wish I had a dollar for everytime I have seen somebody run a red light in front of a cop, I could pay off my vibe. Anyway I haven't got pulled over with my vibe yet (knock on plastic dashboard), but I have gotten screwed on more than one occasion when I had my truck. The vibe sits lower so it feels like you are going faster when you really are not. That helps out a lot.
i had a cavi before i had the vibe, at first when i felt like i was barely moving, i was speeding excessively. it also took me a while to learn the brakes, i would try to slow down too late because i didn't realize how fast i was going

got to admit that 68 in a 55 is speeding. No surprise there. A lot of cops will give you up to 10 mph over the limit, some won't. Also depends on where you are or when it is. Cops around here are strict in work or schoool zones, and there's lots of them hunting this holiday weekend.
The vibe has gottwn me into trouble- I wore out all of my free passes with my other cars- I have 4 tickets with the Vibe~ 3 for speeding- One for a noise violation. I have gone to court for them all and gotten the noise violation and one speeding ticket dropped. Also I got a 25 over reckless driving ticket dropped down to 5 over, and a 10 over to 5 over. All and all Hamburg cops do not like me

No offense to anyone but the cops here in Western Michigan can kiss my (removed). When I moved over here I had no tickets, still drove the same, did the same stuff and managed to get pulled over 14 times in a little more than 2 years. 1. Speeding (10 Over) 2. Noise Violation 3. Speeding (10 Over) 3. Noise Violation 4. Noise Violation 5. Window Tint Ticket 6. Speeding (5 Over) 7. Window Tint Ticket 8. Speeding (15 Over - Cop pulled over the wrong car, proceded to lie in court and I got wacked) 9. DUI (not quite, swerved out of the way of a racoon late at night and got pulled over...passed subribrity test) 10. Speeding (10 Over) 11 & 12. Invalid Liscense plate (both in the same day - got one thrown out) 13. No seat belt (ouch that was $100) 14. Noise violationAll in all I know have 9 points and pay $300/ month in insurance!
what was the noise violation for? if you get tint tickets, take the tint off.remember, they are doing their job, even if you are going only 1 over, you are still technically speeding

I just got a f$&#@ ticket last week! Since it's out of state, i don't really know what to do besides just pay it. I can't take a day off of work to drive several hours to go to court. Anyone here ever reduce an out-of-state ticket? I had another ticket last year so now I'd have 2 on my record with 8 points. yikes!

thanks drunkenvibe. I looked in the phone book and online but couldn't find any traffic hotline for michigan. But I have seen on a few websites that Michigan and a few other states do not share minor traffic information with other states. So i guess any points i get in ohio wouldn't show up on my michigan record. But then if I move out of state in the next 3 years it would show up then. I hope this is true! Anyone else heard of this?
try looking up traffic lawyers then, there has to be some out there somewhere! it will cost you a bit extra than just paying the fine, but the insurance savings will add up quick

I'm 25, no tickets, no accidents since I've been driving at 18, *knocks on wood* with nice low insurance on my 2004 Vibe.A friend of mine told me this funny story that happened to his buddy. The cops had a radar trap set up on the 401 (quebec/ontario drivers know this road) and he was going pretty fast. The cop walks up to his car and says "I've been waiting for you all day."Without missing a beat, the fellow replies "But I got here as fast as I could!"The cop could not stop laughing and let him go.

i haven't gotten one, but wouldn't be a bad idea for me! have you seen the ones that are hidden? that way if you get pulled over, the cop doesn't see it?

Haven't had a ticket in almost 6 years now (knocks on wood). The last one I got scared me straight, I guess.Upper Peninsula of MI, long straight road, no traffic, and a 1993 Thunderbird SC. MI State Trooper clocked me at 131mph. I got really lucky, as he only wrote me up for 65 in a 55. $50 ticket.Whew.

I had figured it would have been fair if I had gotten an actual ticket, but he only gave me a warning. I need to drive slower, and resist the flareups of genvibitis
Never been stopped in my vibe or even my previous S-10...but in the prevoious Taurus i had i was stopped for speeding twice.first time got a ticket for 70 in a 55.second i got a verbal warning for doing 45 in a 30.and once i got a verbal warning for taking a corner too fast tough i was not actually speeding.
