Sinse when were purple neons illegal?? Something about that beig the color of hurse lights??????? Whats up with that! I'm not planning on getting purple underbody kit cause I havea red one right now but thats getting rediculous. I once asked a cop what neons were LEGAL and he suggested I could put white neons in the front yellow on the side snad red in the back, but then you'd have to buy 3 serparate kits! YOUR THOUGHTS -=Paul=-
It depends on the state. In PA, all external neons are illegal if turned on while the vehicle is in motion. So you usually see groups of kids with their neons on parked at popular hangouts around the area. Oh, don't forget the ear-bleeding stereo systems thumping, either.

i think neons are spiffy in a way. in one way they say "hey, look how neat my car looks" in another way, they say "hey, pull me over!"i don't imagine neons while driving are legal no matter what color
chew aura pizza cheat main"the world in my hands, there's noone left to hear you scream, noone's there for you"
quote:What's the thing about neon kits????Do you freaking install neons underneath your living room sofa, under your bed? under the table, under the toilet seat??????Toilet neons! Now THERE'S a trend I need to start...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Here in Michigan not all neons are illegal only red, blue, yellow, and purple.........BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE WITH PURPLE LIGHTS....they said something about thats what color lights funeral vehicles have.....has anyone seen a hurse with a purple light?
quote:.....has anyone seen a hurse with a purple light?Ummm...nope. I think that it's probably just some lame way of making neons illegal since those are primarily the only colors they come in. Legislature could't find a way to pass the law any other way, so they have to make up some lame excuse about emergency vehicles. Have you ever seen an emergency vehicle with neons anywhere on it? Oh, I can see how it would be SOOOOO easy for the average driver to mistake a Honda Civic with red neons under it buzzing down the road sounding like a weed wacker on steriods while it sits 0.05 inches off the ground with 19" chrome wheels with the spinners and stickers all over the car for an ambulance responding to an emergency. Yeah, the reasoning for THAT law almost makes sense. With all the stupid laws regarding how our vehicles can look they just ought to pass laws banning people from having any sort of fun whatsoever, from looking any different from anyone else, and designating the entire country as an "official amish zone" while they're at it.

Holy cow, someone doesnt like ricers or the law lol. I admire your thoughts. Yeah I have been looking at eons on my car and all other cars i see with them on trying my hardest to find out how any one could possibly mistake them for an emergency ehicle considering they are UNDER THE CAR.....and also I have no idea how they could distract another driver unless they have a hard time staying straight when they take their eyes off the road for 3 seconds....Stupid stupid stupid, oh well maybe we can get a petition started to legalize them again....Although I don't think we could find enough people interested in getting involved. -=Paul=-
Colors have meaning. (check your local vehicle code)These are allowable colors:Red means stopWhite indicates directionAmber means warningBlue usually means police.Strobe can be any emergency vehicleAny other color can be considered illegal since there are technically only three allowable colors for non-emergency vehicles.
