cel miss fire code on all 4 cylinders ? CAN ANY HELP ?

Post by Vibe78 »

i started my vibe up one morning and got a cel ? ok so i take my car 2 autozone and they told me that all 4 cylinders were miss firing ? so i home and pulled all 4 plugs out ? man they were nasty ! so i went 2 the dealer toyota of corse and got 4 new plugs . i still got i sleight high idle ? so i cleaned the mass air flow sensor . sum times my car starts on the first try and sum times it don't ? it acts like it ain't qetting the proper fuel pressure , like it's losing prime ? 57,000 miles . so what do i do now ? have not replaced the fuel filter yet ? HAS ANY ONE HAD THIS PROBLEM B4 ?

It seems odd that all 4 plugs would fail at once, more than likely you got a tank of bad gas. The fuel filter is in the tank, not an easy thing to replace.I had 1 cylinder misfiring on my '04, it was a dirty injector.

it does sound like you got a bad tank of gas. Or two. Hopefully cleanng the plugs and MAF sensor will take care of it. If it re-occurs, then either change where you buy gas, or look for some other problem because normally the plugs shouldn't foul lke thatOther people have had the problem of it not starting on the first try, there is a loing thread here somewhere about it.

Replace the fuel filter and use an injector cleaner like Redline. Good place to start. You may also want to check the fuel pressure.

Something similare on my side too. Weird thing is that the cel code come and go. Generally i have a cel on the first start of the day (still winter here.. not sure if weather is a factor)... If i restart the car about 10-30 min after... Sometime the cel code disapear.... till the next restart.I will check that at the garage this week but kinda weird to see the cel disapear.. tought that only a reset of the battery (or of the unichip ) could make the cel go off.

I forgot to mention that if you have oiled filters, the MAF could be dirty.
