Dates for Michigan meet II

Post by rasermon »

I guess it's time to organize another meet before the cold weather hits us. Location: Brighton, or possibly around Ann Arbor area. That would cut down on driving time for the out of state members. Please pick a date and we will get this rolling.

I agree that Ann Arbor would be nuts on any Saturday. I think that Brighton would be a good area. Brighton is actually a little further south then Fenton is. It would be a good location for most Michigan and out of state members.

I'm standing up in a wedding in Green Bay on October 4th. Think my Vibe will like the ferry ride?Whoa! I just looked up the fares and it's $78 round trip for me and another $49 for my car!!!! Hmm, think it's better for me to go down and through Chicago or up and through the U.P.?

Count me in... already asked off work on Sept. 20th. The farther south, the better (only cause I'm from southern Ohio... LOL!). Either way I'll do my best to make it to the meet!

Looks like it would be a little bit longer going up through the U.P., but even if it was 2X as long, the scenery would be worth it, and besides, who would want to drive through Chicago?

Sorry folks...as much as I'm kicking myself for missing Michigan Round 1, I will not be able to make this one...took far too much time off work this summer, told them I would try not to ask for any time off until january...plus I have classes starting this week, so can't miss them......but I'll be there in spirit!

About renting Milan. My friends car club was gonna do it. If we wanted i could arrange it with him for sometime next spring. Also he runs the focus website so we could have quite a few people there.

I might be able to swing something.. hehe.. Also depends on how the foot is. What the hell ever! You know damn well I'd pick you up at your doorstep and drop you right back off there with not a hair on your head harmed during the time in between. That all depends on the day though. If it's the 4th, no dice.

I could talk to the owner of the dealership and see if it is possible- Or I could look at a car audio shop in Brighton- I will call the dealership today and see whats up-

Either one would be really cool! Maybe I could get my subs hooked up at the audio shop too. Is that the one we were talking about earlier this year? As long as either one could host 30+ cars, we would be good.

Well the hardest part about having a meet is finding a location. This is especially difficult if you are getting a location in an unknown area. Maybe mwebb can tell us if there is a good park with a paved drive and we could do something like an outdoor cook out or something. And as far as having it in a more convenient location for more members, I'm game. Give me some suggestions though. The 20th is very close and we need to get this organized as soon as we can. Any other suggestions for location are welcome.

Why are the choices 9/20 or 10/4? What happened to 9/27? I'm sure the 27th was left out for a reason, right?

Stoney Creek would be perfect for me If that is the place it's a big park you'll have to figure out which area to meet at. I was just there on Saturday and played some disc golf. The disc golf area has a few areas with grills, picnic tables, baseball diamond, and a play area for kids.Admission to the park is $4.00 per car. If we have a big meet next year i can have my girlfriends Dad talk to the owner of Shelton Pontiac in Rochester and probably set one up there. That's also where i bought my Vibe

Thanks Mike for saying any date is fine with you before asking me...it's only MY VIBE!!! Ugh...men. Anyway, my Sunday classes start this weekend, so I am not positive I would go to a Saturday meet...since it would include 10+ hours of driving in one day...and then the miles on the Vibe. I will probably sit this one out...and so will my Vibe-Mike might be there with his Grand Am though, who knows.
