Range / Milage

Post by Tazz »

Hi all,I know this topic has been beaten to death here but I have not seen anyone post how far they go on an average a fill. (Fill to low fuel light)I have 2006 AWD Vibe. I am wondering what range you get between fills. So far I have been getting 330-370 km per tank (approx 38 Liter fills). My driving is about 90-95% city. I am wonder how that compares to other out there. Thanks for your replys.TAzz

Typically 250-300 miles, dependent upon what I got going on that tank...usually right around 9.5-10 gallons (US).

I also do not wait for my low fuel like to come on... I try and always fill up around the 1/4 mark.

I can go about 320 miles on a tank. My light comes on at the 10 gal mark, so I know that there's another three gallons in the tank.Best I've ever done is 370 miles on 10 gallons. Not bad for an automatic.

So does everyones' light come on at about 10 gallons? Thus far I am a little disappointed with my '03 GT. I have seen 27.3 & 26.5 on my first two tanks. I have been filling up every three days as to not sure if I can make it 320~330 on a tank.

In the Winter months I get maybe 300 miles to the last quarter mark. The light comes on 25-30 miles after that. Best I've gone was about 375 miles (Sept '05), worst was around 225 (Jan '06)A few years ago I varied my fill-up points on each quarter mark. Did this over a few weeks and there was some fluctuation but on average here's what I've gotten...Full to 1/4 3.5-4.55 Gallons1/4 to 1/2 3 Gallons (6.5-7.5 total)1/2 to 3/4 3 Gallons (9.5-10.5 total)3/4 to light 1-2 Gallons (10.5-12.5 total)Best/Worst mileageFull to 1/4 163/84 miles1/4 to 1/2 252/140 miles1/2 to 3/4 365/210 milesBest overall mileage was in the 35 range, worst was around 19 last Winter. The numbers above are from memory though everytime I drive I keep track of where I am at the quarter marks so I have an idea how my mileage is for that trip.I have noticed that the gallons listed in the first grouping have fluctuated a bit over this past year but those numbers are fairly close.WOOS1, that mileage isn't too bad for Winter. I get about 25-27 mpg highway in the Winter. That goes up 5-6 mpg in the Summer.Dave

Wow..I drive 50 kms one way to work, mostly highway.. and I get about 550/tank with a 39-41L fill. The best I've ever done was about 620 while not pushing it.Mine is of course a 5spd manual, although, sometimes I wish I had the AWD.. I would have if it came manual.Cheers

I've only had my Vibe for 12 days, so I've never seen the low fuel light. My driving has been about 60% city 40% highway in Florida, so fairly warm 20% AC and flat terrain. Pretty easy going, trying to see what I could coax out of it with my normal routine. No long trips in this figure. My last fill-up averaged about 29 MPG. I never let my tank get below 1/4 (I had to replace two fuel pumps on my van letting it get too low). Computing it out I would have gone about 281 miles with a quarter tank left (3.3 gal/US).04 Base AT, no mods.

300 or so is what I get, also. Around 320, it's time to start looking for a gas station. Not a whole lot of freeway driving (it's Hawaii, after all) but I can go, on average, two weeks between fill-ups, for less then thirty bucks a tank.

first test today, 2005 AWD, 17,000km560 km or 348 miles, low level light not on, (hair under 1/4 left) took 49 litres or 10.7 imp gallons to the top of the neck. Interestingly my book says the tank is supposed to hold 45 litres or 9.9 imp gallons...... and my light wasn't even on yet????
