watch out-newbie on the site! **edited to add pics**

Post by trtlflwrs »

just wanted to say hi to all and scream about my new found love of pontiac bought my 2007 Vibe on this past friday the 13th... usually a lucky number of mine and so far i'm happy! had a blue (purple) 1997 civic hatch and loved it to pieces and when i started looking for a replacement earlier this year i quickly narrowed my search. not too much out there for us hatchback lovers that's not a sports coupe or an SUV! but MPG is a major concern for me and i was looking for something bigger but just as practical as my 40MPG civic... just hauled my first load of flower pots (don't ask) and filled my first tank in the vibe: 34MPG even after all the goosing then my dad (the wonderful mechanic that he is) found this site and was very happy, says he's going to e-mail me other Vibe/Pontiac forums/sites but is slow on the uptake. hehe.but for now i'm tooling around in my 5-speed, sun & sound, 16" alloy wheels, mono black Abyss Vibe! oh yeah, already added a metallic blue pinstripe... have to decide what else i can do that will fit into the budget... hmmm. i'll have to wait til it's clean again to catch a good pic of the pinstriping... those above were all taken the day of purchase

Welcome to GenVibe!Does trtlflwrs = Turtle Flowers = Chelone? This is the only Pontiac Vibe site you will ever need. (and it's basically the only one there is, so you really don't have a choice. haha)Your Vibe looks great! Get more pics with the pinstriping too.

Nice Vibe and welcome to the site! 1 question, what is the light in the top right corner of your rpm gauge? Looks like it's probably the CEL, but I don't recall it being there before.

Quote, originally posted by Mrizzle05 »i think thats the engine light buddy.i dont know if yours is different then the newer onesI think on the 03/04 models (not sure, don't have my car with me in BFE Oklahoma where I'm at right now, rode with my sister /cuz I'm cheap and my car SUX!), the CEL is next to the "RPM" on the gauge (near the center).

Welcome to this site. Some really great folks here and I've learned a ton in the short time I've hung around here. I even went to one of their rallies, and had a great time. I've always liked the look of other peoples BLACK cars.

Welcome newcomer and fellow Ohioan. Cole Valley treat you right? I have bought parts there b/c they are the nearest Pontiac dealer, but FYI try toyota for most parts. That way you can save $ to do more mods. I have only had mine (actually my wife's) for 35 days and have since added short-ram air intake, exhaust, seat covers, silverstar headlight bulbs, Sony CD player, new rear speakers, and still going...wheels, subs, rear carpet, tint in the near future8}
'04 Vibe 1.8VVT-i, K&N Typhoon S/R, Fullboar muffler w/3.5" resonator tip. Sony CDX-GT500 h/u + Fosgate mono amp w/2 10" woofers & cap. Tinted side rear windows, SilverStar headlights and Cool Blue fogs. DC Sports Headers. 2.5" stainless pipe from stock resonator to muffler. thanks to all again! i've already found things on this site that are going to come in handy!mathteacher: YES Cole Valley was great to deal with... did most of the buying process over the phone b/c i don't live in the area (but it's still "home") and i had a crappy experience with the pontiac dealer closer to me (Toth Buick Pontiac )... but CV gets a & here's a shout out to all OHIOANS on this site- way more than i ever expected! we should see about meeting somewhere like some of the other vibers do... could prove interesting!
