Does anyone in the area know where i can get these lights. I have looked aruondand the best that I can come up with are the silvestra cool-blue. (bought a set and they are really blue and not much brighter than stock). I would prefer not to have to get them off the net if there is somewhere local (GTA) that they are availableThanks for the help
I also had a hard time finding the Silverstars.....ended up with Xenon Superwites with a blue tint. man I love them! They are also very nice and bright, but a #%$^&$ to install! If you don't mind me asking how much did they set you back AtWork?

$70 US!! *ack*Well -- not to say you got hosed, but.....I was just down in Pennsylvania, and stopped by WalMart to pick up a pair of SilverStars.... $39 for the 2-pack.Of course, they were out of the 9003's when I stopped by so I couldn't buy myself some... but they were willing to give me a raincheck if I wanted for when they got more stock. Not that it does me much good though

I ordered my Silverstar from the US, but it is expensive.I called directly Sylvania and ordered a set.At the end, it cost me close to $150 (cdn) with taxes, customs and shipping
What about Performance Inprovments in north Oshawa N

I sent AtWork all the dealers that came up in their area. She informed me most of them were wholesalers that would NOT sell to individuals...But I wish you guys luck.J -- if you ever burn out, just find an excuse to come down our way and we'll hook you up!

Walmart in Canada doesn't have them. Performance Improvements doesn't have them they are extremely hard to find I looked everywhere. I ended up getting the PIAA ultra brights and I'm more then happy with them. although other drivers seem to get a little upset when I'm behind them!!!
Thanks Zedman!I ended up buying Eurolites Xenon Fusions and I love them! 35$ CAN and I can relate about the other drivers being upset, they are super bright!

Newbie here.Performance Improvements on Kennedy rd in Scarborough carries the sylvania sylverstars, as well as every piaa bulb. And all the piaa fogs.I was just there yesterday looking for a fog light kit.the top of the line piaa (4150 k) headlight bulbs are like 135 bucks/pair, the silverstars (4000 k) are 80/pair. the piaa front turn signal, rear signal, and reverse bulbs are 32/pair in extreme white.just reporting the sighting. they have been found. there is also a place on the north side of ellsmere just west of brimley, and a place on birchmount near lawrence. both of these places have the silverstars for 80/pair.Cheers

One of mine mytseriously burned out, just exchanged them at WalMart. They didn't give a hoot.I think the constant slamming of the hood from all the stuff I've done in there might've broken a filament prematurely...I now let it down gently and just push it down until it catches...just in case that's what happening...

Makes sense when you think about it.As far as warranty, I couldn't find any official term - Sylvania's website states they desire 100% Satisfaction and to call them with specific concerns. You can read the Frequently Asked Questions here:http://www.sylvania.com/auto/sstar_faq.htm
I was told at the performance shop i went to that Silverstars have a 90 day warranty and the piaa bulbs have 1 yr.As long as you dont handle the glass part of the silverstar bulb with your fingers, they should last just like any other bulb.Greasy fingerprints burn them out really fast.Just what I've heard, not from experience, my car is bone stock.Cheers
I was not impressed with the PIAA bulbs...I find the Silverstars brighter, though I did enjoy the red halo effect the PIAAs had...but I'm happier with my Silverstars...I've replaced 3 bulbs...2 to user error..one I drove over, the other shattered at the dealer because they did something they shouldn't have while it was being serviced...the third just mysteriously burned out the low beam, as aforementioned, I think because I slammed the hood...Potholes are much different than slamming the hood...a lot of the shock of potholes is absorbed by the tires and shocks...and what isn't, should not be enough to disturb a bulb filament.Slamming the hood puts direct force on the headlight fixutre...whereas potholes have a lot of stuff in between them and the light fixture to absorb it.Don't worry. You should NOT have a bulb blow because of potholes...

I do have the PIAA's in my car right now and when side by side with the silverstars I hate to bust your bubble here but mine are much brighter and have less of a blue tint to them.... I haven't had any issues with the bulbs and they have 1 year from the reseller as well as a 3 year from the manufacturer
Never heard of them. I got the Super Plasma GTs because supposedly they were the brightest of the PIAA line. Are yours legal for street use? If not, maybe that's why...

according to the place I got them they are perfectly legal but let me tell you they are freaken bright..... I'm sure I have ticked off many many people lol....
Well, let's compare scientifically:PIAA Xtreme White with XTRA Technology:60/55 watts H/LColor Temp: 4150KSylvania SilverStar:72/65 watts H/LColor Temp: 4000K So, while ours are higher wattage, your color temp is slightly hotter (closer to natural daylight).Only thing I can't find is a lumen output for your bulbs. If we knew that we'd be able to tell which put out the most light...

Just a minor adjustment to those figures actually....The 9003 (H4) Silverstar is rated for:70/50 watts max H/L -- not 72/65That's 1200/700 Lumens respectively.

and lowers wattage is better ?since it's less likely to burn things out ?

But note that those numbers from Silvania/Osram say "Max" in them.... I have no idea what that means as a bulb generally draws one current all the time. I've been told the SilverStars are just 55/65 L/H watt bulbs that are more efficient, and thus generate more lumens per watt. And to be deemed street legal in Canada (which SilverStars are) they can't have any higher wattage than that.As a rule-of-thumb, overwattage bulbs are of course brighter, and they'd be cheaper than the SilverStars. However, you're also treading in the illegal now (if they're bright enough, the local constabulary WILL notice), and you're taking chance with melting your wiring harness and bulb connectors.
