Howdy all, Been lurking around here a few months, bought a New (05) Vibe GT in May (06) off the lot. So far having a blast w/ it. Wondering about chipping it... Can it be done easially? I see Neverenoughauto lists a unichip w/ pnp harness for this auto, yet on the Unichip web site it looks like custom wiring is required (no plug-n-play?). I'm somewhat confused.... Can anyone straighten me out?Thanks,Mr_Gasman
Welcome!Bluecrush, trdvibe, mav. and lancer all have or had a unichip and know a lot about them. Trdvibe had one in her vibe GT so hopefully she posts up. You can have them sent to you with a map of what mods you have done so it can be installed and used, but to get the best gains you need to go to a certified unichip tuner and have it tuned. From what i think i remember, with the harness it should be plug n drive
Welcome to Genvibe! Because there is no PnP application for the '05+ Vibes yet. It would have to be hard wired by a Unichip Installer ONLY. Question: Is your engine a cable throttle or an electronic throttle?

TRDVibe had a 2003 Vibe GT which has a different throttle system then the 2005. But I bought the chip from her and am getting it programmed for my base Vibe which is an 04. Its a noticable difference though and well worth the money if you get it. IMO you should get the performance mods you want like exhaust and cai and then get a chip programmed with those mods. Otherwise you will need to get it reprogrammed every time you install another engine mod.

Quote, originally posted by northvibe »the 2005 GT's went to DBW?all I know is they changed something because the 2003-2004 intakes would not work on the 05-06 Vibe GT. I'm not sure what changed. But how that would effect the plug in at the wireharness is a mystery to me.

I'll see if I can find the pinouts for them and post them in this thread. And, Mavrik is right, you should get all of your performance mods in first before getting the chip. (I/H/E, etc...)

OK, here are the pinouts from the Camcon instructions:TO-107 = 2003-2004 Vibe GTTO-109 = 2005 Vibe GTThe difference in the two is the location of the A/F signal wire. There are going to be changes for other wires that are not labeled as well. Now this info is just for the Camcon but it does confirm that there is a difference in pinouts for the '03-'04 vs. the '05.I know this does not help your dilemma other than confirming that it does need to be hardwired. But now you know for sure. You may be better off going with the camcon for e-manage for your See my post about Performance chips here for more info: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=20250
