additional info. interior dome light?

Post by FireMonkey »

Hi Again...Thanks for all of the input. I haven't used the rear hatch for anything since I bought the car, and the weather has been warming up. I haven't noticed if the door ajar light comes on with the lightshow but I will watch for that tonight. What I have noticed is that it seems to be happening more often now and when I hit smaller bumps in the road. (As opposed to just coming on with the big bumps)Another thing I noticed last night was...usually it is just a quick flash, on and off...but last night I noticed it would stay on moderately long if I was accelerating...almost as if a, shall I say, "G" force created from acceleration was holding a loose wire in a position to keep the light on. (Yeah..I know..I've got a pretty vivid imagination.)

it was probably one of your doors not being all the way shut, I have had that happen before

heh!that happened to me a couple of times...it's your rear hatch. I found that on colder days/nights (when you notice the light show) the rear hatch doesn't want to completely close unless you give it a good slam.i'd put money down that it's not a short.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

i concur, it's gotta be the hatch door. make sure you close it tight and nothing is closed in it. happens to me all the time after the car wash guys dry my car, they often don't close it properly.

Wow, I thought I had a weird electrical problem. Just noticed last night that when I hit a bump the interior light would flicker on. I will check the hatch before I drive it again. Hope that's it.
