Windshield Decal

Post by Lori19 »

Hi ll,I bought a Vibe windshield decal off of ebay, but it didn't come with any instructions. It just looks like a big sticker to me, so I'm quessingI just get the windshield squeaky clean and stick it on?

Doesn't sound too technical to me. Clean or dirty it should stick. Was this a trick question? Can you provide the link to this sticker?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 1851608155 Here ya go, hope it works. Nope, this isn't a trick question since I have never put one of these on before and don't want to screw it up. The sticker is on a blue paper, and the whole thing is clear plastic then underneath the clear plastic is the white decal. I need to know if the clear sticker part stays on the car or if you pull it off after getting the white decal centered and secured.

nice decalwonder how much it'd cost to create on using EL Sheets..That'd be pretty cool.Put the EL Sheets vibe logo between the glass and a tint strip to keep it in place..

I have seen this same sticker on ebay, im still thinking about getting one for mine.To put this on your window has to be very clean. There has to be paper on the back, take that off make sure not to bend it or get it stuck to something. A second pair of hands would be good. leave the clear part on (the clear is on top of the sticker?) You also have to put it on from left to right.....or right to left. if you try to put it on all at once it will bubble. it would also be good if you had something to press down on the sticker as you go from left to right. once the whole sticker is on keep pressing down on the sticker.after you do that for a while pull the top film off the sticker very slowly and again from left to right ...or right to left....i like to use a nice rounded piece of plastic to use when applying pressure.good luck and dont forget the pics when its done

When I first opened the box, I was hoping that the clear wasn't going to be part of the decal. It's heavy and ribbed. Thanks to all for the advice. When it stops raining I will put it on. If it ever stops!

Sorry to hear that Lori. It looked like the rain was all going to stay South. Well, here's hoping the weather will be better next weekend. We are suppose to go up to Watkins Glen for the Vintage Races so I would like the better weather too. Good luck on the installation of the decal!

Interestingly, the only thing that bubbled alittle was the clear plastic over the white sticker. When I went to peel off the clear, the white started to come with it, so I stopped and started at the other end and it was fine. I'm curious to see how well it will hold up to these rotten NJ winters. I had to put it up so high so I wouldn't get a ticket. Everything is against the law in New Jersey!

WTG Lori! Looks good. I would have considered one if they offered it with "VIBE GT" instead of just "VIBE". Not sure if I would have actually done it though. Did you run into any problems while you were applying it?

Lucky me, the only problem I had is since I'm so short I had trouble reaching the middle of the sticker from either side of the car! I had to open the door, stand up thru the moonroof to press it down real good! It's holding up real good too, so I am happy!

I bought one as well, looks schweet Quality looks great, i had no problems installing it. I used the little dots around the rearview mirror to center the vibe lettering.I'm really happy with it.

To prevent bubbling, put one drop of baby shampoo in a spray bottle and wet the windshield before you put the sticker on. After you have the sticker on there, use a squeegie to wipe across the sticker backing to get the bubbles out and to get the excess water out from underneath it. Leave the sticker backing on for an hour or two and let the water/soap mixture dry. Then peel the backing off slowly, this should work like a dream. The shampoo mixture will also allow you to move an reposition the sticker when you first put it on before using the squeegie. Hope this helps.
