Power Door Locks

Post by esjones »

I keep learning new things.... (this is probably in the manual, but who reads the manual cover-to-cover?).I needed to unlock the Vibe today, but my "main" keyring with the remote was unavailable. So, I grabbed the spare key, without a remote, and unlocked the driver's door with the key. I turned it the wrong way first, and heard the power door locks cycle. Neat! So I played around some more and realized that if you turn the key clockwise once, it unlocks the driver's door. Turn it twice and it unlocks all the doors! Nice feature!

Yes, it is in the manual but it only works on Vibes with the power package. And, yes, I did read the manual cover to cover.

I just can't figure out why people neglect to read their manual. I learned so much about things and features in the Vibe that would of stumped me later. Bring it inside and either put it on your nightstand or in the bathroom and just read away from cover to cover. You won't be sorry--------------- James (Vibe)

I am glad that it does not have the feature like the VW jetta that if you turn the key twice the windows open. That would suck because I know my 2 year old would figure it out and raise havoc all day long. He loves switches. I even had to buy the fridge with the lock feature on it so that he would stop giving the dog ice cubes and making a mess in the kitchen.
Just here to lend a hand to people who have questions about their Vibe.
