I recently ordered crossbars for the Vibe, thought it would be an aerodynamic, sleek addition. Instead, I received an ugly steel bar with an aesthetic rating of "0".Does anyone know how to get good looking crossbars, ones I wouldn't be ashamed to show in the daylight?

The car has the OEM rails that run along the sides of the roof, but lacks the crossbars. The ones I bought look like they're made by Thule, essentially a piece of rubber-covered steel tubing with clamps that attach to the rails. It sits on TOP of the rails. I was looking for more aerodynamic-looking units, that resemble an air foil in cross section. It appears that the standard rails have a slot designed to hold crossbars of this type

well that's simple ask some of the folks here who have removed their cross bars, I'm sure some of them would be willing to sell theirs if they haven't already

i think he's trying to say that the ones he got from whereever.. are ugly and un aerodynamic unlike the ones that came stock in 03-04.i like my roof rack. the car looks better with them on than off.

I don't want crossbars because they will add to the looks or the aerodynamics. I want a crossbars because I need a place to attach my ski rack. I don't want crossbars made out of 1" square steel tubing that sticks out on either side of the car. (Speaking of ugly!) GM, with their wisdom, decided that making the aero crossbars non-standard was a good idea. (It's mostly a good idea for them, because they can charge an extra $100-$200 to sell an accessory that should have been standard equipment)The good news: I found a used, complete rack (with aero bars) on Ebay that will be cheaper than the utility bars I am returning to the dealer.I'd like to thank y'all for your help. This website is what led me to the Ebay listing in the first place.
